I went to a party today, Ron and Marianne’s party, do you know that one? Those are the ones from the books, Ron Schröder and Marianne Busser, they wrote a lot of books, didn’t they, a whole room full or two, but there are a lot of them and I know that because I was allowed to visit there once, yes, I was at their house, I was there and then we became friends and because we are friends I was allowed to come to their party today. Yes, they had a party, about books and a lot of people were there too. Really a lot, a whole theatre full and they all came for Ron and Marianne’s party, really…
I didn’t know we were going to the party, no, it was a surprise and then you don’t know, no, when you get a surprise you don’t know where you’re going or what you’re going to do, I didn’t know either, I just had to go in the car and Helen wasn’t going to say where we were going, ‘I’ll see that later’. Well okay then I’ll just wait it out huh, or well I didn’t wait completely silent actually. No I asked all the way in the car what we were going to do you know. I had to guess what it was, do you know that game?
But the surprise was that we went to Ron and Marianne, well, that was a lovely surprise because they read from books, and we had to rhyme, yes I can do that well, rhyme and Marianne sang songs, yes, those can write very well, but she can also sing, did you know that? Not me, and she can also play guitar, yes, also very well, she could also be a singer, on the X-factor or The Voice, you know that? Is nice huh? And Ron was playing games with us, with cards of different colors, which we had received when we came in and he had also dressed up as a fat man who had something to read and didn’t feel like it at first, but he did it anyway and also very well, Ron can also read very well, just like Marianne and he is also good at dressing up, yes, and he is also good at making jokes. And their children were there too, they are grown up, yes, those are already two ladies and that one is called Liselotje, they also have a book about that, yes, I have that too and I know it almost by heart already, and that also sang songs, well she could sing even better than Marianne, she would really be chosen at The Voice I think, I would vote for it anyway.
And Marianne has told all kinds of stories, about people she helps and whom she likes, yes, she can tell well, isn’t she, she’s also a real chatter, just like me, yes and I had to laugh a lot, I thought it was a lot of fun great party and then it was suddenly over, over. Too bad…..and then I was allowed to choose 1 book that I wanted, but I couldn’t choose, I wanted the book that Willem became king, but also the book of those dirty and rotten children, yes, I wanted that I also liked and then I got them both, because I hadn’t received a birthday present yet. That’s sweet isn’t it?
And then we went home and I went to see Ron and Marianne to say hello and thank you for letting me come. They were all very busy signing books, but they still wanted to take a picture with me, that’s nice, isn’t it? Yes, but they are, very nice and very funny and very famous, but they don’t act like that, no, actually they are quite ordinary, just like me, yes.
